I am an artist and storyteller, currently studying in the amazing Sequential Art Graduate program at the Savannah College of Art and Design in beautiful Savannah, Georgia. I have grown so much as an artist and person over this very quick year of grad school, and I am looking forward to bringing my unique style and ideas to the comic industry.
I have worked in a wide-ranging variety of occupations within the graphic design world. From my time in the United States Air Force as a graphics specialist, to positions in the sign industry, to the last decade as a store artist for Trader Joe’s, I have been an artist and designer professionally for over 25 years.
My influences include artists from many different eras, and a spectrum of popular culture from music, movies and comic art. Everything from Mucha, Beardsley, Schiele,Sendak, Nagel, Da Vinci, Lichtenstein, Frank Miller, Neal Adams, Dave Sim, Crumb, Jeff Smith, Scorsese, the Coen brothers, Public Enemy, The Cure, U2, DJ Shadow, and Prince have been great inspirations in my life and artwork.
It has been an incredible experience to have the opportunity to go back to school and return to drawing comic books, which has been a passion from my earliest memories. The faculty and my classmates in the SCAD Sequential Art Graduate program have been everything that I could have imagined and much more. The opportunity to meet some of my idols in the industry and work with the amazingly talented artists in this program has truly been a life-altering experience.
